Knit and Crochet Show

Registration has now opened for the Knit And Crochet Show! It is a wonderful conference that you don't want to miss!

This year I had the pleasure of planning Professional Development Day with Tammy Hildebrand.  It is going to be an intensive day of learning as we take a behind-the-scenes look at proposing and developing a book. This is an outstanding educational opportunity for established or aspiring professionals as well as those who have only dreamed of becoming a professional.

There are several days of classes that you won't want to miss either! Our conferences are a fantastic place to add new stitches to your crochet tool box!

Let me know if you are attending - I'd love to see you there!

Crochet Cyber Cafe

Our first Google Hangout was a blast!  Thank you to all who attended! Our next meet-up will be in 2 weeks, I really hope more of you can attend.  We are still working out some bugs, but overall it went very smoothly.

Along with meeting crocheters from around the country, I also met a new friend who lives 30 min. from me! You just never know what might come out of attending one of our meetings.  Next week I am attending a local chapter group and now this new member will come too! It's wonderful to get a chance to meet in person.

If you are thinking about joining - please do! You don't have to stay in the Hangout the whole time, you are welcome to hop off whenever you'd like.

I hope to see you there!

Fun News!

Welcome, National Crochet Month Blog Tour!  Thank you, Amy Shelton and Donna Hulka of Crochetville for putting together our "Tour Through Crochet Country"!

Before moving on to my pattern and news, I'd like to encourage you to support the charity our blog tour is promoting. Project Night Night is a wonderful charity that supplies blankets and other essentials to homeless children. Your donation would be much appreciated!

Since it is St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd share my free Coleen's Scarf pattern.  It's a quick pattern with a beautiful stitch! Just in time for spring, puff stitch flowers adorn this snugly scarf.  I hope you enjoy making it just as much as I did!

In other news, I've been working on a secret project - and it's finally ready! I'm really excited to share the new Crochet Cyber Cafe!

Do you wish you had a local CGOA Chapter to crochet with? Wouldn't it be great to have friends who really understood your fiber addiction? Pattern collection? Stash obsession? Then, won't you join me on Google Hangout?

Crochet Cyber Cafe is a live video chat CGOA Chapter! We will be meeting in groups of 10 - having fun chatting and sharing our love of crochet!  Times and dates of our meet ups will be posted on the Crochet Cyber Cafe message board on the CGOA members website listed under groups.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Alina Baby Blanket

I've never been one to do traditional colors for baby blankets.  I love colors that pop and pastels just don't do that for me.  I think babies also love vibrant colors.  That's the idea behind my newest pattern - giving baby a blanket she can grow into! Alina is a lovely textured afghan that is a lot of fun to make!  Why not give it a try today?

Spider Lace Top

This top was first released in Crochet! Spring 2010 and is still one of my favorites! It's a light and lacy top that can really pull an outfit together. Red Heart is now offering it for free here.

Please post photos on Ravelry if you happen to make it - I would love to see your work!

New Pattern Coming Soon!

I've been busily working on a an afghan for my cousin's new baby girl.  I always wait for the baby to be born before I make the afghan.  I like to know the baby's name and get a peek at the colors the mom and dad gravitate toward before I invest the work into an afghan.

This new pattern coming out is a bit unconventional. I'm not a big fan of pastels. I've never understood why we give such pale colors to babies. They out grow those colors so quickly! I head toward deeper colors. It works well, too! The moms I have made them for always thank me for switching things up.

My newest self-published pattern is in the pattern testing faze right now. Photos and links coming soon! I hope you enjoy the design as much as I do!
